ถนนคนเดินริมน้ำโขงเริ่มต้นกันตั้งแต่ บริเวณท่าน้ำวัดหายโศกไปจนถึงท่าเสด็จ ซึ่งชาวบ้านก็จะทำอาหารพื้นเมืองสินค้าทำมือใครทำอะไรได้เอามาตั้งร้านขาย ไม่ใช่พ่อค้าอาชีพแต่เป็นคนหนองคายมาช่วยกันทำให้บ้านเมืองตัวเองคึกครื้น การโอภาปราศรัยพูดคุยจึงดูแตกต่างจากถนนคนเดินทั่วไปแถมวิวริมแม่น้ำก็สวย อีกต่างหาก เราจึงจะพาทุกคนไปเดินเล่นสำรวจกันซักหน่อย สำหรับถนนคนเดินของจังหวัดหนองคายแห่งนี้ เพิ่งจะเปิดตัวกันไปได้ไม่นานนัก เรียกได้ว่าเป็นถนนคนเดินน้องใหม่เอี่อมอ่องก็คงไม่ผิดนัก ดังนั้นถ้าบางคนแปลกใจไม่เชื่อว่าหนองคายมีถนนคนเดินกับเค้าด้วยก็คงจะไม่ ใช่เรื่องแปลกอะไร เพราะเค้าเพิ่งเริ่มเปิดทำการกันเมื่อช่วงปลายปี 2555 ที่ผ่านมานี่เอง ทุกๆ วันเสาร์ช่วงเย็นๆ ตั้งแต่ 4 โมงเย็น แผงค้าต่างๆ ก็เริ่มทยอยกันจัดข้าวของ บางวันอาจจะเริ่มกันช้าหน่อยถ้าแดดยังร้อนอยู่ กว่าร้านค้าจะเต็มพื้นที่ดีก็น่าจะช่วงซัก 6 โมงเย็นไปแล้วนั่นแหละ และบรรดาพ่อค้าแม่ขายก็จะปฏิบัติการค้าเรื่อยไปจนค่ำๆ ซัก 4 ทุ่มก็ได้เวลาแยกย้ายสลายตัวพอดี ถ้าใครเคยมีโอกาสได้ไปเที่ยวหนองคายแล้ว น่าจะพอนึกภาพทางเดินเท้าเลียบแม่น้ำโขงได้ดี ร้านรวงแผงลอยจะตั้งหันหน้าออกสู่แม่น้ำโขงเป็นระเบียบเรียบร้อย ตลอดระยะทางเดินราวๆ 500 เมตร ช่วงหัวถนนบริเวณชุมชนวัดหายโศกจะเน้นหนักไปทางร้านขายอาหารนานาชนิด ทั้งของกินเล่น และกินแบบจริงจังให้อิ่มกันเป็นมื้อๆ ถัดไปก็เริ่มเป็นสินค้าทำมือ งานฝีมือท้องถิ่น ของที่ระลึกต่างๆ ไปจนถึงสินค้าตามสมัยนิยมที่รับมาจากที่อื่น ซึ่งอาจจะดูไม่น่าตื่นเต้นเท่าไหร่สำหรับคนเมืองอย่างเรา แต่เสน่ห์อย่างหนึ่งของถนนคนเดินแห่งนี้ เราต้องยกให้กับลานกิจกรรมบริเวณท่าน้ำวัดหายโศก ที่ถูกเนรมิตให้กลายเป็นบรรยากาศแบบรำวงย้อนยุค เปิดตัวกันด้วยเวทีแสดงวงลูกทุ่งชุดใหญ่ พร้อมธงสีๆ เพิ่มบรรยากาศความคึกคัก พอได้เวลาดนตรีก็บรรเลงเพลงต่อเพลงแบบ not stop ส่วนลานโล่งหน้าเวที ก็กลายเป็นฟลอร์เต้นรำ ซึ่งชาวหนองคายขาแดนซ์ก็จะผลัดกันออกมาอวดลีลาเท้าไฟ ทั้งกลุ่มชมรมลีลาศที่จัดเต็มตั้งแต่หัวจรดเท้า หรือจะเป็นชมรมแอโรบิคที่รวมกลุ่มกันมาโชว์สเตปอย่างพร้อมเพียง ที่น่ารักอีกอย่างก็คือการเต้นในจังหวะบาสโลบแบบชาวลาว เห็นแล้วก็อดอมยิ้มไปกับความสนุกสนานตรงหน้าไม่ได้ ฟลอร์ริมน้ำแห่งนี้เปิดโอกาสให้ทุกคนร่วมแจมสเตปความมันส์กันได้แบบไม่มีหวง ตั้งแต่เย็นไปจนถึงเวลาปิดถนนกันเลยทีเดียว ส่วนเวทีอีกฝากของถนนคนเดินบริเวณหน้าป้ายพญานาคสองเศียร ก็จะมีการแสดงทางวัฒนธรรมจากเด็กๆ เยาวชนในหนองคายผลัดเปลี่ยนกันมาแสดงให้ชมทุกสัปดาห์ ใครรักชอบสไตล์ไหนก็เลือกกันได้ ส่วนเราขอยึดพื้นที่นั่งชมบรรยากาศรำวงย้อนยุค ดูพี่น้องชาวหนองคายออกสเตปลีลาศดีกว่า ยิ่งอากาศดีๆ ได้ลมเย็นๆ ริมแม่น้ำแบบนี้ รับรองว่าเพลินจนเผลอขยับเท้าไปตามจังหวะแบบไม่รู้ตัวกันเลย....ใครมาเที่ยว ที่หนองคาย อย่าลืมแวะมาเก็บบรรยากาศที่ถนนคนเดินแห่งนี้ให้ได้
